Eugène Carrière has been inspired by no particular school, and has no special theories to regulate his methods.
Instead of this “anglais au baccalauréat” we have lately begun a course of Grimm’s Fairy Tales which are nearer to his level, and I am realizing once more what this stuff, so-called folk-lore, is worth.
